We’re all doing Go Bald because we believe in it, in what it represents. For some of us, it’s a wonderful thing to raise awareness about kids with cancer; and it kills us to see the innocence of youth ravaged by a disease that knows no boundaries. Some of us have had personal experiences with cancer, losing a loved one to the evil dreaded C, and we absolutely hate to think how it feels to be a kid and be faced with it. So we just want to do something that truly counts. Whatever it is, Go Bald is important to each and every single one of our team. We hope you feel the same way.

Advisor cum Founder GB
“As a parent and committee of Go Bald, I have to lead by example. I had shave my head every 2 weeks since Go Bald 2, 2010.”
Jodie Sim
Organising Chairperson
“This year I am going bald not only to support children with cancer that they are not in this fight alone but also to create awareness about childhood cancer it’s symptoms and how early detection and proper treatment, these children have high hopes of a bright future. By going bald I am able to experience what it’s like without hair and hopefully to come out from this experience a better person”

Cheryl Melia
Deputy Organising Chairperson
“This is my second year being part of the Go Bald committee, and having seen how badly cancer affects patients physically and emotionally, I really feel for those who suffer from cancer, especially children. I have a niece, two nephews, and another one on the way, and I love them all dearly, I can only imagine the pain and sadness parents go through when their children are diagnosed with cancer.
I didn’t go bald last year, so I feel that my move to have my head shaved this time round will help in creating awareness of the fight against cancer, as well as the need to raise funds for the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) to support the patients that they house as well as their families.
Besides, it gives me perfect reason to feel like Evey Hammond (V for Vendetta)” ;P

Jacqueline Chin
Treasurer
“I volunteered at the SCCS since April 2011 and am now a full time tutor. It’s one of the many jobs I do, but it’s also the one I love most. Deep down, I feel like these kids are a part of my extended family. I hope to show my little angels that because of them, I’m shaving for a cause. They inspired me in wanting to be a better person for myself and the society we live in.”

“My mother was a cancer patient and passed on in 2007. I’m doing this on her honor. Being a part of go bald 3 last year really opened up my eyes to plight of the child cancer and the support that Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) has provided to the families here in need.”
Suzanna Adee
Secretary
“I’m going bald because I want to get out of my comfort zone and feel for those kids who have much more to endure than a temporary loss of hair. What I’m going to go through is such a small sacrifice. Nevertheless, i hope it helps to send the message out to the public that these kids needs all the support they can get. I am going bald to help kids fight cancer.”
